More than 700 lakh metric tonnes of rice have been procured in the country, benefiting 96 lakh farmer

At present, rice procurement has been started on a large scale by the government of the country. For the Kharif Marketing Season 2022-23, to date, more than 702 lakh metric tonnes of rice have been procured. Only purchases have been made till 20th February. More than 96 lakh farmers have benefited from this procurement process. Till now, Rs 1 lakh 45 thousand 845 crores has been transferred to the accounts of live farmers.

The government has made all arrangements for the purchase process. The distribution is about 218 lakh metric tonnes as compared to the intermediate quantity procured till February 20.
