From Traditional to Progressive Farming
Born into a farming family, Madhusudan was no stranger to agriculture, having grown up watching his father engage in traditional farming. Despite only completing education up to the 10th grade, he always had a passion for the land. However, like many others, he was aware of the challenges that traditional farming posed, including fluctuating market prices, low profitability, and unpredictable weather patterns.
“Education is important, but it’s not everything. If you’ve got passion and are willing to change with the times, you can still achieve great things,” says Madhusudan.
A Focus on High-Value Crops
Today, Madhusudan dedicates most of his vast 200-acre farm to cultivating high-value crops. Around 130 acres are reserved exclusively for horticulture, where he grows chili, capsicum, tomatoes, garlic, and ginger. His strategic crop selection and innovative farming practices have made him a millionaire, earning crores every year.

Chili Cultivation
Madhusudan grows hot chili on 40 acres of land. With a production cost of approximately ₹70,000 per acre, he yields between 150 to 200 quintals of chili per acre. Each acre generates an impressive income of ₹3 lakh.
Capsicum Cultivation
Capsicum farming spans 25 acres of his farm, with a higher cultivation cost of ₹1 lakh per acre. Despite the costs, the yield is significant, with each acre producing 300 to 400 quintals of capsicum. This brings in ₹6 lakh per acre.
Tomato Cultivation
Tomatoes are grown on 50 acres, with cultivation costs of ₹1 lakh per acre. The tomato yield ranges between 1,000 to 1,200 quintals per acre, earning Madhusudan an income of around ₹3 lakh per acre.
Garlic Cultivation
Garlic, grown on 15 acres of his farm, is a high-investment crop with a production cost of ₹2 lakh per acre. Despite the high costs, it offers great returns, bringing in ₹7 lakh per acre.
Ginger Cultivation
Another key crop for Madhusudan is ginger, cultivated on several acres. With a production cost of ₹2 lakh per acre, the ginger yield ranges from 100 to 110 quintals per acre, contributing significantly to his overall income.

Madhusudan’s shift to horticulture was not just about growing different crops. He embraced modern agricultural techniques, adopting practices such as drip irrigation, soil testing, and the use of high-quality seeds.
