His decision to diversify crops was driven by the desire to reduce risk: “If one crop fails, the other will sustain us,” he shares. Nahar’s experimental mindset extended to growing cucumbers off-season, showcasing his willingness to innovate. 

His farm is now a vibrant patchwork of colours, with roses flourishing beside vegetables. This diversity not only protects him from crop failure but also meets market demands more effectively. Additionally, he supplements his income by cultivating mushrooms, further increasing his earnings. 

Balancing Organic and Inorganic Methods 

While many farmers embrace organic farming, Nahar maintains a balance between organic and inorganic practices. He admits that inorganic methods currently offer him higher yields but continues to experiment with organic alternatives in search of an optimal balance. His pragmatic approach allows him to produce both quality and quantity from his land.
