Gypsum: Get Subsidy on Gypsum—Know How to Apply
The government is making several efforts so that farmers can increase their income by getting maximum production from farming. In this regard, the Rajasthan government is giving huge subsidy on gypsum to farmers. For this, targets have been issued for all the districts of the state. In Rajasthan, under the Land Reform Program, farmers will get gypsum free of cost and at 50 percent subsidy under the National Food Security Mission Pulses Scheme. How much subsidy will farmers get on gypsum?
Under the Land Reform Program, there is a provision to provide a maximum of 1.5 metric tonnes of gypsum free of cost to a farmer for 0.5 hectares of land based on the gypsum requirement as per the soil testing recommendation in the year 2024-25. The farmer should give the soil sample of his field along with details to the regional agricultural supervisor. The fee for testing one sample is Rs 5.

Giving information, Joint Director Agricultural Extension, Zila Parishad Bundi said that apart from this, under the National Food Security Mission Pulses Scheme, a farmer will be provided gypsum 250 kg (5 bags) per hectare for one hectare area at 50 percent subsidy i.e. total price of Rs. 3650 per metric tonne, It’s subsidy amount of Rs. 1825 per metric tonne and farmer’s share amount of Rs. 1825 per metric tonne. The demand for gypsum will be sent by the farmer online through Raj Kisan App. A maximum subsidy of 2 hectares will be given to a farmer.
How to apply for this subsidy?
To get gypsum on subsidy, farmers will first have to get the soil of their fields tested. After getting the recommendation of gypsum requirement in the test report, farmers should upload the gypsum demand on Raj Kisan Sathi-Suvidha app. According to the departmental channel, It’s demand will be sent to the supplier, which will be made available to the farmer through KVSS GSS.
Gypsum is useful as a nutrient along with improving the soil. It is useful in the formation and development of root nodules in legume crops, protein content and photosynthesis. As a result, the productivity and quality of legume crops increases. The infestation of pests and diseases in the crop decreases as well as production increases.
