6 June 2025: The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has announced the retail sales figures for the tractor segment for May 2025. According to the latest figures, India’s tractor industry sold 71,992 units in total, registering a growth of 2.75% from 70,063 units in May 2024.

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Figures—May 2025
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Tractor Division) topped the segment, selling 16,511 units in May 2025 as against 15,921 units in the same month of last year. The company had sales growth of 3.71%. That figure is up 0.21% from its market share in May of 2024, when it was 22.72%.
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Swaraj Division) reported sales of 13,643 units against 13,101 units in the corresponding month last year, registering 4.14% growth. Its market share also increased from 18.70% to 18.95%, that is, an increase of 0.25%.
The makers of the Sonalika brand—International Tractors Ltd.—sold 9,620 units in May 2025, compared to 9,228 units in May 2024. This is a 4.25 percent increase.” Its market share also rose from 13.17% to 13.36%, an improvement of 0.19%.
Escorts Kubota Ltd (Agri Machinery Group) registered a consistent performance with 8161 tractors this May as against 7656 tractors this May last year, recording a 6.60% increase. Market share of NBFCs increased by 0.41 percent to 10.93 percent in May 2024 and 11.34 percent in May 2025.
TAFE Ltd., on the other hand, saw a steep drop in performance, with sales declining to 7,502 units as against 8,516 units in May 2024. The company’s sell-off was 11.91%, and overall market share decreased by 1.73% from 12.15% to 10.42%.
The Tractor Division of John Deere India Pvt Ltd sold 5,924 units, compared to 5,130 units, representing strong performance. That represents a jump of 15.48 percent, with its share rising from 7.32 percent to 8.23 percent, or 0.91 percent growth.
For Eicher Tractors, the numbers stood at 4,311 units in May 2025 as against 4,465 units in the previous year, which was a 3.45 percent drop. This represented a 0.38% decrease in market share from 6.37% to 5.99%.
CNH Industrial (India) Pvt. Ltd. sold 3,051 units during the month, as against 2,897 units in May 2024. That’s a 5.32% increase, with its market share increasing only marginally, from 4.13% to 4.24%—or a 0.11% gain.
Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt Ltd witnessed the biggest fall among big OEMs as it could sell just 797 units against 1,157 units sold in May 2024, recording a 31.11% dip. Its share of the market dropped from 1.65% to 1.11%, a 0.54% decrease.
Other Brands – including regional and niche players—sold a combined total of 2,472 units, improving from 1,992 in May 2024. This is a growth of 24.10%, and their combined market share gained 0.59%, from 2.84% to 3.43%.
