India’s tractor retail market has started FY’26 on a strong note, as per the latest report by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). The total tractor retail sales reached 75,109 units in April 2026, compared to 60,956 units in April 2025, registering a robust year-on-year growth of around 23%.

Mahindra Continues to Dominate the Market
Mahindra & Mahindra maintained its leadership position in the tractor segment. Its tractor division recorded 16,894 units, securing a 22.49% market share.
The company’s Swaraj division also delivered strong numbers with 14,598 units, accounting for 19.44% market share, slightly higher than last year.
Sonalika and Escorts Kubota Show Strong Growth
International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) continued its growth trajectory by selling 10,472 units, increasing its market share to 13.94%, up from 12.78% in April 2025.
Escorts Kubota Limited also reported steady growth, with 8,580 units sold and a 11.42% market share, compared to 10.44% last year.
TAFE Holds Steady, Mixed Trends for Others
TAFE Limited maintained a stable performance with 8,437 units, holding a consistent 11.23% market share.
John Deere India Pvt Ltd registered 5,287 units, though its market share declined to 7.04% from 8.22% last year.
Eicher Tractors recorded 4,510 units, maintaining a steady 6% share.
CNH Industrial India Pvt Ltd posted notable improvement, with sales rising to 3,864 units and market share increasing to 5.14% from 4.20% in April 2025.
The “Others” category saw a decline in market share to 3.28%, indicating increasing dominance of major players in the tractor industry.
Positive Outlook for FY’27
FADA highlighted that the growth in April 2026 reflects strong rural demand, improved agricultural conditions, and rising adoption of farm mechanization. With favorable monsoon expectations and increasing focus on productivity, the tractor industry is expected to maintain this positive momentum in the coming months.
