Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Phase III

A critical mass of enthusiasm and expectation is growing in India as the country gets ready for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Junction as Phase III develops, signifying an important development in India’s democratic process. This stage, which spans several states and union territories, is crucial since it is during this time that voters from various geographic areas cast their ballots, influencing the political climate of the country. 

With nearly 970 million individuals eligible to cast their votes, the forthcoming elections are expected to witness participation across more than 1.2 million polling stations nationwide. The Election Commission conducted a thorough evaluation of each state’s preparedness ahead of the announcement. 

The General Elections 2024 in India are going to start with Phase III on 07th May Phase III of general elections will be held in 12 State For 94 constituencies   

 Twelve states and ninety-four constituencies will vote in this phase. These states are Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. Every constituency embodies a distinct fusion of languages, cultures, and goals.  

Key Issues and Overview:  Economic Development and Inflation: India’s economy has grown rapidly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with growth estimated to have reached 8% in the most recent fiscal year. The country is currently rated sixth in the world in terms of economic size. Modi has pledged to elevate India to the third position if re-elected.

But the benefits of this economic growth are more noticeable in cities than in rural areas. There have also been concerns expressed over cost increases; retail inflation in 2022–2023 was 6.7%.

Welfare Policies: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the government provided free food rations to 814 million people or almost 60% of India’s population. Critics claim that this highlights unequal economic advancement.

Women’s welfare has also been a top concern for

Approximately 15.88 crore voters, including 8.08 crore men, 7.8 crore women, and 5,929 third-gender electors, were eligible to vote in this phase. Among them are 3.28 crore young voters aged 20–29, including 34.8 lakh first-time voters. 

Highlights of Phase I& II General Elections

Phase 1 of the Lok Sabha Elections of 2024 had participation from the constituencies of 20 states and union territories. There was a notable increase in voter turnout, with certain constituencies reporting turnout levels over 70%. Voters’ enthusiasm and a strong democracy were proven by the high level of public participation in the electoral process. To ensure a peaceful voting process, strict security protocols were implemented, involving the widespread deployment of central forces. In the first round of the elections, a number of well-known candidates ran, including leaders of different parties, ministers, and sitting members of parliament.

To attract voters, the political party staged road shows and delivered speeches at gatherings throughout Phase 2. The campaign mostly addressed issues pertaining to jobs, development, and regional concerns.
