22 Member panel to roll out Agriculture loan waiver – Khetigaadi, Tractor Industry in India * A day after chief minister Kamal Nath signed the Rs 35,000 crore farm loan waiver file, the state government on Tuesday formed an implementation committee, headed by the chief secretary, to thrash out the modalities. * In order to ensure supply of adequate quantity of good quality of fertilizer to the farmers, the Government of India promulgated the Fertilizer (Control) (Organic, Inorganic and Mixed) Order, 1985 (FCO) and Fertilizer (Movement Control) Order, 1973 * The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to double farmers’ income by 2022 through a series of focused programmes like Soil Health Card, organic farming, crop insurance, irrigation, e-NAM.Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare met Ms. Ruhsar Pekcan, Turkish Trade Minister. The meeting was held for extending cooperation between the two countries through greater interaction among government agricultural institutions, experts, scientists and agro business. * Assam will launch three schemes for farmers, including a partial loan reimbursement programme and another that will make crop loans effectively interest-free, aiming to give a fillip to the flow of agricultural credit. These schemes together will cost Rs 1,000 crore to the state government. * Domestic output of mustard oil could be 10-12% higher than a year ago as more farmers have returned to the crop this season, drawn by higher minimum support price (MSP) and better seeds, according to industry executives. Mustard oil output is likely to increase by 10-12% over last year as chilly weather is highly favourable and acreage is also set to increase by over 10% this season. * Continuing strong growth momentum over the past two financial years, tractor sales in the year are expected to end on a good note. As per rating agency ICRA, Indian tractor demand is expected to grow at 10-12 per cent in FY2018-19.
