India’s FY’25 tractor sales fall 1.04% to 8.83 lakh units
On 7th April 2025, the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) released the retail sales data of tractors for FY’25. The report indicated that the total tractors sold in India were at 883,095 units against 892,410 units in FY’24. This is 1.04% less compared to the previous year’s overall tractor sales.

Marketing Performance Brand-Wise Tractor Sales – FY’25
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Tractor Division) grew by 1.65%, with 208,114 units in FY’25, compared to 204,726 units in FY’24. Its market share grew to 23.57 percent from 22.94 percent, an increase of 0.63 percent.
Sales of Swaraj Division (M&M Ltd.) increased 3.48% to 165,562 tractors from 159,997 tractors in FY’24. Its market share rose to 18.75% from 17.93%, a gain of 0.82 percentage points.
International Tractors Ltd. also posted a modest 0.85% rise, selling 115,198 units compared to 114,228 units in the same period a year ago. Its share of the market increased to 13.04 percent from 12.80 percent, up 0.24 percent.
There was a significant decline in sales volumes of tractors for TAFE Ltd., with sales of 99,286 tractors compared to 108,106 sold in FY’24, a decline of 8.16%. Its market share dropped from 12.11% to 11.24%, down 0.87%.
Escorts Kubota Ltd. (Agri Machinery Group) reported a 2.45% drop as it sold 87,628 units in FY’25 as against 89,832 in FY’24. Its market share fell from 10.07% to 9.92%, a reduction of 0.15%.
John Deere India Pvt. Ltd. saw a robust 6.13% spike in sales, with 67,518 tractors sold against 63,620 in the FY’24. The company’s market share grew to 7.65% from 7.13%, with an increase of 0.52%.
Eicher Tractors sales fell 3.91% to 57,213 units from 59,538 in the previous fiscal year. The market share decreases from 6.67% to 6.48% with a loss of 0.19%.
CNH Industrial (India) Pvt. Ltd. registered a marginal 1.31% fall in sales with 35,763 units as against 36,236 units in FY’24. Market share held steady, dipping 0.01 points, to 4.06%.
Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt. Ltd. suffered a steep 15.02% decline, at 15,033 units as against 17,691 units in FY’24. Its market share fell by 0.28%, to 1.70% from 1.98%.
All the other brands combined sold 31,780 tractors, as compared to 38,436 tractors during FY’24 — a fall of 17.32%. Their collective market share declined to 3.60% (−0.71%) from 4.31%.
