The data indicates a marginal increase in the sector, signaling encouraging progress when compared to the preceding year.

In April 2024, the cumulative tractor sales across different brands totaled 56,625 units, showcasing a rise from the 55,857 units sold in April 2023. This signifies a 1.37% increase in sales, reflecting a favorable trend in the market.
Among the key players in the sector, Mahindra, a prominent name in the agricultural machinery segment, witnessed significant sales growth. In April 2024, the company sold 12,651 tractors, exceeding the figures from the corresponding period last year, which amounted to 12,633 units.
Swaraj Tractor, a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, showcased robust performance in the month. With a 15.38% increase in tractor sales compared to April 2023, the company recorded sales of 11,028 units, a rise from 9,558 units in the previous year. Additionally, Swaraj Tractor succeeded in augmenting its market share by 2.37%, highlighting its growing footprint in the market.
International Tractors Limited, another significant player, saw a notable uptick in sales. In April 2024, the company sold 7,420 units, up from 6,963 units in April 2023. This marks a 6.56% growth compared to April 2023, coupled with a 0.63% increase in market share.
Escorts Tractor observed a variation in sales, declining from 6,247 units in April 2023 to 5,866 units in April 2024, indicating a 6.10% change. On the other hand, TAFE Limited saw a minor fluctuation in market share, with sales dropping from 6,749 units in April 2023 to 5,622 units in April 2024, reflecting a 2.15% change.
John Deere Tractor experienced a surge in sales, rising from 4,554 units in April 2023 to 4,772 units in April 2024, indicating a 4.79% increase. Additionally, their market share expanded by 0.28%.
Eicher Tractor demonstrated notable growth, as sales surged from 3,217 units in April 2023 to 3,881 units in April 2024, marking a 20.64% increase. Furthermore, they augmented their market share by 1.09%.
New Holland Tractor also witnessed growth, advancing from 2,266 units in April 2023 to 2,414 units in April 2024, indicating a 6.53% increase. Additionally, their market share experienced a slight uptick of 0.20%.
The sales of Kubota Tractor, on the other hand, experienced a shift, falling by 18.29% from 1,318 units in April 2023 to 1,077 units in April 2024. Still, they reported an increase of approximately 0.46% in market share.
Sales of tractors in April 2024 were double those of the same month the previous year, according to Force Tractor. In April, it sold 151 tractors as opposed to 262 tractors the previous year. In April 2024, the company’s market share also dropped by 0.20%.
VST Tillers & Tractors also experienced fluctuations in sales, decreasing from 309 units in April 2023 to 163 units in April 2024. Additionally, their retail market share underwent a change of 0.26%.
