Gromax Agri Equipment Ltd., a joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and the Government of Gujarat, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. This marks a significant milestone in the tractor maker’s journey toward empowering Indian farmers with affordable mechanized solutions.

Revolution in Farming! Gromax Expands with 40+ Tractor Variants!
One of their strategic shifts for the brand was in 1999 when Mahindra acquired a majority stake in what had become Mahindra Gujarat Tractor Ltd., thus renamed Gromax Agri Equipment Ltd. two years ago. Growing from just 4 tractor models in the past 25 years, Gromax has an extensive range of 40+ models in 20-50 HP with the introduction of TRAKSTAR (brand in 2017). TRACTORS under HINDUSTAN, also under the TRAKMATE brand, include various kinds for modern farming needs: tillage, planting, harvesting, etc. To celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary, Gromax launched new 4WD tractor models, the Trakstar 525 and Trakstar 536, during the year.

The company also unveiled new 2WD tractor models in the 24HP, 31HP, and 36HP categories to coincide with annual market cycles for different segments of orcharding. In a bid to attract young farmers, give the company a different image and make its products more recognizable, Gromax introduced tractors with saffron and black color themes. In the words of Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.: “I can say that in the last 25 years it has been a milestone year for us at Mahindra & Mahindra.
