Speaking on the performance, Veejay Nakra, President—Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “We have sold 38,914 tractors in the domestic market during May 25, a growth of 10% over last year. An early onset of the above-normal Southwest monsoon should augur well for kharif sowing. Plowing operations are well underway for the transplanting of paddy. Announcement of MSP for paddy and kharif crops may boost the morale of farmers. Improved reservoir levels, an announcement by the government of record food grain production, and the launch of schemes would encourage farmers’ higher productivity going forward and, in turn, bode well for tractor demand. In the overseas market, we have sold 1729 tractors.”
