Till now, the insurance company has mainly insured the Rabi and Kharif crops. But now the Haryana Government has started the Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme at its level.
Under this, now the farmers of the state will be able to insure the vegetable, fruit and spice crops.
With this, farmers will now be able to get compensation for the damage caused by natural calamities to horticulture crops like Rabi and Kharif crops.
Today we are giving information about the Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme Haryana through Tractor Junction so that more and more farmers of the state can take advantage of this scheme.
What is Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme Haryana: According to media reports, Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister J.P. Dalal has launched the portal of a new Horticulture Crop Insurance Scheme by the name of “Mukhyamantri Horticulture Insurance Scheme”.
Under this scheme, farmers will be compensated for the loss of horticulture crops due to natural calamities.
Under the scheme, adverse weather factors and natural calamities like hailstorm, temperature, frost, water factor (flood, cloudburst, canal/drain break, water logging), storm and fire which cause crop loss, Haryana State Government has given these All the factors are included in the plan.
21 crops will be insured under Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme: 21 crops have been included in the Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme.
In these 14 vegetables have been included, which are tomato, onion, potato, cauliflower, peas, carrot, okra, ghee, bitter gourd, brinjal, green chili, capsicum, cabbage, radish.
At the same time, 5 fruits including mango, kinnow, plum, guava, and litchi have been included in the fruits.
Apart from this, two spice crops have also been taken in this scheme, which are turmeric, garlic. Farmers can get insurance for the above horticultural crops.
How much compensation will be given for the loss of horticulture crops: Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister J.P.
The broker said that the compensation has been divided into four categories 25, 50, 75 and 100. According to this, no compensation amount will be given in case of 0 to 25 percent crop loss.
If the crop loss is between 26 percent to 50 percent, then compensation at the rate of 50 percent will be given for vegetables/spices at the rate of Rs 15,000 per acre.
At the same time, compensation amount will be provided at the rate of Rs 20,000 per acre for fruits.
In case of loss between 51 percent and 75 per cent, farmers will be given 75 per cent compensation at the rate of Rs 22,500 for vegetables/spices and Rs 30,000 per acre for fruits.
On the other hand, in case of loss of more than 75 percent, compensation at the rate of 100 percent will be given for vegetables/spices of Rs.30,000 and for fruits, Rs.40,000.
How much premium will have to be deposited for vegetable, fruit and spice crops: This scheme will be optional for all those farmers who are registered under Meri Fasal Mera Byora.
Under the scheme, the sum assured will be Rs 30,000 per acre for vegetables and spices and Rs 40,000 per acre for fruits and the farmer’s contribution/share will be only 2.5 percent of the assured amount, which is Rs 750 in vegetables and fruits. The amount will be Rs 1000 per acre.
Explain that an amount of Rs 10 crore has been arranged by the government as initial capital for the scheme. Compensation amount will be based on survey.
Monitoring of the scheme, review and resolution of disputes will be done through the state level and district level committees constituted under the Prime Minister’s Fasal Bima Yojana.
How to apply for insurance of horticulture crops by farmers: Farmers have to opt for this scheme while registering their crop and area on Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB) portal.
Season wise crop registration period will be fixed and notified from time to time. This scheme will be implemented on individual sectors i.e. crop loss will be assessed at individual field level.
