Mahindra Tractor Sales Rise 5% to 27,595 in August 2026

Mahindra tractor sales in the market reached 27,595 units in August 2026, which is 5% higher than the 26,201 units sold in August 2025. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.’s Farm Equipment Business released these numbers on September 1, 2026.

Total tractor sales, including exports, were 29,507 units in August 2026, up from 28,117 units in August 2025. This is a 5% increase compared to last year. Mahindra keeps growing.

Mahindra sold 1,912 tractors in export markets during August. Improving rainfall and near‑normal Kharif sowing have helped farm activity in parts of the country.

How Did Mahindra Tractor Sales Perform in August?

Mahindra’s domestic tractor sales rose by 1,394 units in August 2026 compared to August 2025. Sales went up from 26,201 units to 27,595 units over the period. This marks a 5% increase in sales.

The company’s August sales were as follows:

Category August 2026 August 2025 Growth
Domestic 27,595 26,201 5%
Exports 1,912 1,916 0%
Total 29,507 28,117 5%

Exports stayed nearly unchanged in August 2026. They were at 1,912 units, slightly down from 1,916 units a year earlier. This means there was no growth in export sales. Because of this, domestic sales were the driver behind Mahindra’s overall sales growth in August. The increase in units pushed the total sales forward by 5%.

What Supported Tractor Demand in August?

Mahindra said improved rainfall has helped support near- Kharif sowing. This has provided a boost to farm activity during the season. The company also highlighted government schemes as a positive factor for rural demand. In addition, the upcoming festive season could lift sentiment and increase tractor demand.

Veejay Nakra, president of the farm equipment business at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said the company recorded 5% growth in sales during August. He also said Mahindra sold 1,912 tractors in the export market during the month.

Mahindra Tractor Sales Grow 16% in April-August

Mahindra also reported cumulative sales for the April‑August 2026 period. Domestic tractor sales reached 212,664 units during the period. In comparison, Mahindra sold 1,82,390 units during the period last year. Therefore, cumulative domestic sales increased by 17 percent year on year. Total sales, including exports reached 2,21,968 tractors during April‑August 2026. Mahindra had sold tractors in the same period last year.

Category April-August 2026 April-August 2025 Growth
Domestic 2,12,664 1,82,390 17%
Exports 9,304 8,524 9%
Total 2,21,968 1,90,914 16%

Exports also recorded growth during the April-August period. Export sales increased 9% to 9,304 units from 8,524 units.

What Could Drive Tractor Sales Ahead?

The upcoming festive season may help rural demand grow in the coming months. Better rainfall conditions could also help farm activity and crop sowing. In addition, government schemes may continue to support farmers and rural markets. However, actual tractor demand will depend on rainfall, crop conditions and farmer sentiment.

For now, Mahindra’s April to August sales show a year‑on‑year performance in the domestic market. Mahindra will seek to keep this momentum during the phase of the agricultural season and the festive season.
