To cultivate finger millet, prepare the field well. Then, select good seeds and sow them at the rate of 6 kilograms per acre using the broadcasting method or behind a plough. You can also use the transplanting method like paddy, which increases production. The cost for cultivating one acre of finger millet is approximately 10,000 rupees, while the profit can be up to 50,000 rupees. The yield per acre is 8 to 10 quintals. The cultivation period is 130 days.
How to Prepare the Field
To prepare the field, first, plough it well twice. Then, level the land using a plank. Sow the seeds using the broadcasting method or behind a plough. Use chemical fertilizers at the rate of 40 kilograms of nitrogen, 30 kilograms of phosphorus, and 20 kilograms of potash per hectare. This increases the yield.
