Escorts Kubota Limited’s Agri Machinery Business reported a strong performance in May 2026, registering an 18.9% year-on-year growth in total tractor sales. The company sold 12,310 tractors during the month, compared to 10,354 units sold in May 2025.

The growth was largely driven by robust demand in the domestic market. Domestic tractor sales reached 11,887 units in May 2026, reflecting a 22.5% increase over the 9,703 units sold in the same month last year. According to the company, growth momentum continued across both wholesale and retail segments, supported by favorable farm sentiment, adequate reservoir levels, and sustained rural demand.

Escorts Kubota noted that preparations for the upcoming Kharif season have contributed to positive market conditions. Strong reservoir levels and resilient rural demand are expected to continue supporting tractor sales in the coming months. However, the company highlighted that rising input costs, particularly fertilizers, softer prices for certain cash crops, and evolving geopolitical developments remain factors to watch.

In the export segment, tractor sales stood at 423 units in May 2026, compared to 651 units in May 2025, resulting in a 35% decline year-on-year. Despite weaker export performance, strong domestic sales helped the company achieve healthy overall growth.

For the first two months of FY27 (April–May 2026), Escorts Kubota recorded total tractor sales of 23,167 units, up 21.4% from 19,083 units sold during the same period of FY26. Domestic sales during the period increased by 24.8% to 22,285 units, while exports declined by 28.4% to 882 units.

The company remains optimistic about the rural economy, citing favorable monsoon expectations and strong reservoir levels. While weather patterns such as emerging conditions could influence rainfall distribution, Escorts Kubota believes that the underlying demand for farm mechanization remains resilient.

With strong domestic momentum and positive agricultural fundamentals, Escorts Kubota continues to strengthen its position in India’s tractor market as the industry prepares for the peak farming season.
