India’s tractor retail industry continued its positive momentum in May 2026, according to the latest data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). Total tractor retail sales reached 83,092 units in May 2026, compared to 74,744 units during the same month last year, registering a healthy 11.17% year-on-year growth.

Mahindra Continues to Dominate the Market
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Tractor Division) maintained its leadership position with retail sales of 19,077 units, capturing 22.96% market share. The company recorded growth from 16,519 units sold in May 2025.
The Swaraj Division of Mahindra & Mahindra secured the second position with 15,205 units sold and a market share of 18.30%, compared to 13,649 units in May 2025.
Combined, Mahindra and Swaraj accounted for more than 41% of the total tractor retail market during the month.
Other Major Players Show Positive Performance
International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) sold 11,120 units, achieving a 13.38% market share, up from 9,865 units last year.
TAFE Limited recorded significant growth with 10,659 units sold, increasing its market share to 12.83% from 10.04% in May 2025.
Escorts Kubota Limited (Agri Machinery Group) registered retail sales of 9,539 units, holding 11.48% market share, compared to 8,172 units in the corresponding period last year.
John Deere and Eicher Maintain Steady Presence
John Deere India Pvt. Ltd. sold 6,039 units and captured 7.27% market share, while Eicher Tractors recorded 4,922 units with a 5.92% share.
CNH Industrial (India) Pvt. Ltd. posted retail sales of 3,857 units, accounting for 4.64% market share, up from 3,103 units in May 2025.
