India Tractor Retail Sales Jump 36% in February 2026; Mahindra Retains Top Position

India’s tractor retail market witnessed strong growth in February 2026, with total retail sales reaching 89,418 units, compared to 65,579 units in February 2025. This represents an impressive 36.35% year-on-year growth, reflecting strong demand from the agricultural sector and improved farmer sentiment.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited (Tractor Division) retained its position as the market leader by selling 21,471 units, capturing a 24.01% market share in February 2026. The company recorded significant growth from 15,519 units sold during the same period last year. 

The Swaraj Division of Mahindra & Mahindra secured the second position with 16,897 units, accounting for 18.90% market share. Together, Mahindra and Swaraj contributed nearly 43% of the total tractor retail market during the month. 

Khetigaadi

International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) continued its strong performance by retailing 11,564 units, achieving a 12.93% market share, up from 8,351 units in February 2025. 

Escorts Kubota Limited registered one of the highest growth rates among major brands, selling 10,125 units compared to 6,582 units a year earlier. The company increased its market share from 10.04% to 11.32%

TAFE Limited maintained its presence in the market with 8,892 units sold and a 9.94% market share, while John Deere India reported 6,673 units in retail sales, holding 7.46% market share

Eicher Tractors sold 5,546 units, accounting for 6.20% market share, whereas CNH Industrial India registered 4,158 units, improving its market share to 4.65% from 4.10% last year. 

The “Others” category contributed 4,092 units, representing 4.58% market share

The robust growth in February 2026 tractor retail sales indicates rising agricultural activity, favorable rural demand, and increasing mechanization across farming regions. Industry experts expect positive momentum to continue in the coming months, supported by government initiatives, better crop prices, and strong demand for farm equipment.
