Our Story

KhetiGaadi was not built in a boardroom. It began in the fields, shaped by real experiences, real challenges, and a deep understanding of Indian agriculture. The journey traces back to 2013, when a simple but powerful problem was identified—farmers did not have access to the right information. Even basic tractor specifications, pricing, and implement details were often incomplete or unavailable, sometimes even from manufacturers themselves. As a result, purchasing decisions were not always based on actual farm requirements, but influenced by local opinions and informal advice. For a farmer, a tractor is not just a machine; it is an aspiration and a long-term investment. Yet, without clarity, this aspiration often led to inefficient choices.

Coming from a farming background, I have seen the challenges farmers face at the ground level. Through KhetiGaadi, my vision was to create a platform that brings the right information, right tools, and the clarity farmers need to move forward with confidence. — Pravin Shinde Founder

This gap led to a defining thought: what if every farmer had access to structured, reliable, and easily accessible information before making such an important decision? The idea was not just about building a platform, but about farmer empowerment—giving every Kisaan the ability to make informed decisions with confidence. It was about shifting the power of decision-making from influence to understanding, from assumption to clarity.

Our Vision: To build an agriverse to elevate farmers’ standard of living.

“If we want to build something meaningful, we must first listen. Farmers already have the answers—we just need to understand them.” — Pravin Shinde Founder

These were not surface-level interactions. Small village gatherings were organized, and one-on-one conversations became the foundation of learning. The team focused on understanding local practices, region-specific farming techniques, and the real challenges faced by farmers. Every interaction brought new insight, ensuring that the platform would not be based on assumptions, but on real, lived experiences.

At the same time, data was systematically gathered from agricultural machinery testing centers, research institutions, and industry sources. This information was continuously studied, structured, and refined to ensure it was accurate, relevant, and useful. The goal was not just to collect data, but to transform it into something meaningful—something that farmers could easily understand and use to make better decisions.

Our Mission: To make the process of buying and selling tractors and farm implements simple and hassle-free, while providing complete and transparent information to farmers and manufacturers globally.

The journey, however, was far from easy. With no formal technical background, building a digital platform from scratch required constant learning and persistence. The website was built, tested, scrapped, and rebuilt multiple times. Every failure was a lesson, and every iteration brought the platform closer to its purpose. Progress came not from perfection, but from continuous effort.

Behind this journey stood not just a founder, but an entire family. Coming from a farming background, the Shinde family believed deeply in the vision. They invested their savings and stood firmly behind the mission, determined to create something meaningful for the farming community. This was not just a business initiative—it was a collective effort driven by belief, resilience, and a desire to bring real change.

“Farmers are at the heart of everything we do our true Annadata. My goal is to empower them, improve their lives, and bring them into the mainstream.” — Pravin Shinde Founder

In 2016, KhetiGaadi was officially launched as a website, marking the beginning of a new chapter in agricultural transformation. It was designed as a one-stop platform where farmers could access tractor information, compare specifications, understand pricing, and explore farm machinery with clarity. The launch came at a defining moment in India’s digital journey.

2016–2019 marked the beginning of a new internet era in India.

With the entry of Reliance Jio and the availability of affordable data, internet access rapidly expanded across rural and semi-urban regions. Farmers who previously had limited access to digital platforms were now becoming active participants in the online ecosystem. KhetiGaadi was positioned at the right place, at the right time—bridging the gap between traditional farming practices and the digital age.
In 2017, the launch of the KhetiGaadi mobile application further strengthened this accessibility. Information was no longer limited; it was now available in the hands of farmers, anytime and anywhere. The platform became more intuitive, more user-friendly, and more aligned with the needs of the farming community. During this time, John Deere became the first client on the platform, marking the beginning of strong relationships with leading tractor manufacturers.

This was the beginning of an ecosystem—where farmers, manufacturers, and information came together.

Between 2016 and 2019, KhetiGaadi saw rapid growth and adoption. Despite being a new platform, it gained trust across the farming community. Farmers began using it not just for information, but as a reliable decision-making tool. As the platform grew, more tractor manufacturers joined, recognizing its value as a digital marketplace and information hub.

Growth was not driven by marketing—it was driven by trust.
“When farmers see value, they don’t need to be convinced—they become your strongest voice.” — Pravin Shinde Founder

On 22nd March 2018, KhetiGaadi achieved a significant milestone. An all-India press conference was held to publicly announce that over 4 million verified farmers had registered on the platform. This achievement was remarkable not just for its scale, but for how it was achieved—without any paid marketing. The reason behind the growth? It’s the ability of the platform to solve real problems of farmers.

The journey was now evolving—from providing information to building a knowledge ecosystem.

As the platform matured, its vision expanded beyond machinery. In 2020, KhetiGuru was launched as a knowledge-driven platform. A social media platform for the agriculture sector. It created a space where farmers could ask questions, share experiences, and receive guidance from experts and the broader farming community. From crop information to problem-solving, KhetiGuru became a hub of learning and collaboration.

The platform was no longer limited to farming—it was enabling rural development at a larger scale.

In 2022, KhetiGaadi expanded its reach with the launch of InfraGaadi, bringing the same approach of transparency and accessibility to construction machinery. This marked a strategic expansion beyond agriculture into rural infrastructure. Around this time, JCB became a major client, further strengthening KhetiGaadi’s position within the mechanization ecosystem.

“Digital builds access. Physical builds experience. Together, they create impact.” — Pravin Shinde Founder

In 2024, KhetiGaadi entered a new phase with the launch of KhetiGaadi Universe in Satara. This was the introduction of a true “phygital” experience—where physical infrastructure meets digital intelligence. KhetiGaadi Universe is India’s first agri-mall, designed to bring everything together in one place—machinery, tools, seeds, fertilizers, and knowledge.  The agri-mall also includes a dedicated farming library and learning spaces, creating an environment where farmers can not only access products but also gain knowledge. It represents the next step in KhetiGaadi’s journey—moving from a digital platform to a complete agricultural ecosystem.

“Farming deserves better decisions, and better decisions start with the right information.” — Pravin Shinde Founder

Over the years, KhetiGaadi has evolved into a trusted agritech platform, connecting farmers, manufacturers, dealers, and stakeholders across India. Its growing digital presence reflects this trust, with over 1.3 million followers on Facebook, more than 200,000 subscribers on YouTube, and nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram—building a strong and engaged farming community across platforms.
At its core, KhetiGaadi remains driven by a single purpose—to improve the standard of living of farmers and bring them into the mainstream of a rapidly evolving digital economy. Every milestone, every innovation, and every expansion reflects this commitment.  What began as a simple idea in 2013 has grown into a platform adopted by millions of farmers. The journey continues, with the same belief that started it all: when farmers are empowered, the future of agriculture becomes stronger, more efficient, and more sustainable.
