Horticulture and Soil Conservation Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar said that the farmers over the State are opportune given advantages under different plans of the department.

He opined that the aggregate exertion of the stakeholders (the Government and the farmers) will help in raising the pay of the farmers and lift the economy of the State.

He was talking at the tractors and power tillers circulation function to the selected recipients (farmers) at the workplace complex of Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department, Sanjenthong.

22 selected farmers from the locale of Imphal East, Imphal West, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, and Senapati were given 9 tractors and 13 power tillers at the sponsored rate in the primary period of homestead motorization of the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) plot (2018-19) under the aegis of the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department.

An appropriation of Rs 1 lakh each on tractors and Rs 75,000 each on power tillers have been given to the chosen recipients for purchasing the Machinery by the department.

A help of Rs 57.50 lakh has been given by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India for obtaining 50 quantities of power tillers and 20 quantities of tractors which will be circulated to the selected recipients in stage astute. Government is helping the chosen farmers, the selected farmers to lend some assistance to the poor farmers so every one of the farmers can strive to expand the crop production.

JC Ramthanga, Principal Secretary said that the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department expects to build the efficiency of the agriculturist and horticulturist in the State and to make the State completely natural.  Circulation of tractors and power tillers is one of the segments of the yearly arrangement for 2018-19, dispersion program will be an achievement as the chosen farmers will almost certainly work and produce more.
