6 June 2025:<\/strong> The Federation\u2002of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has announced the retail sales figures for the tractor segment for May 2025. According to the latest figures, India’s tractor industry sold 71,992\u2002unit<\/strong>s in total, registering a growth of 2.75%<\/strong> from 70,063 units in May 2024.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The industry just about kept its head above water despite patchy results from leading OEMs. This is\u2002indicative of strong rural demand and early-season stocking.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Brand-Wise Tractor Sales Figures\u2014May\u20022025<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd<\/a><\/strong> (Tractor Division) topped the segment, selling 16,511 units in May 2025 as against 15,921 units in the\u2002same month of last year. The\u2002company had sales growth of 3.71%. That figure is up\u20020.21% from its market share in May of 2024, when it was 22.72%.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (Swaraj Division<\/a>)<\/strong> reported sales of 13,643 units against 13,101 units in the corresponding month last year, registering 4.14% growth. Its market share also increased from 18.70% to 18.95%, that is, an increase\u2002of 0.25%.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The\u2002makers of the Sonalika<\/a><\/strong> brand<\/strong>\u2014International Tractors Ltd.\u2014sold 9,620 units in May 2025, compared to 9,228 units in May 2024. This is a 4.25 percent increase.” Its market\u2002share also rose from 13.17% to 13.36%, an improvement of 0.19%.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Escorts Kubota Ltd<\/strong> <\/a>(Agri Machinery Group) registered a consistent performance with 8161 tractors this May\u2002as against 7656 tractors this May last year, recording a 6.60% increase. Market share of NBFCs increased by 0.41 percent to 10.93 percent in May 2024 and 11.34 percent in May 2025.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

TAFE Ltd<\/a><\/strong>., on the other hand, saw a steep drop in performance, with sales declining to 7,502 units as against 8,516 units in May 2024. The company\u2019s sell-off was 11.91%, and overall market\u2002share decreased by 1.73% from 12.15% to 10.42%.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The Tractor Division of John Deere India Pvt Ltd<\/a><\/strong> sold 5,924 units, compared\u2002to 5,130 units, representing strong performance. That represents a jump of 15.48 percent, with its share rising from 7.32 percent to 8.23 percent, or 0.91 percent growth.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

For Eicher<\/a><\/strong> Tractors, the numbers stood at 4,311 units in May 2025 as against 4,465 units in\u2002the previous year, which was a 3.45 percent drop. This\u2002represented a 0.38% decrease in market share from 6.37% to 5.99%.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

CNH<\/strong> <\/a>Industrial (India)\u2002Pvt. Ltd. sold 3,051 units during the month, as against 2,897 units in May 2024. That\u2019s a 5.32% increase, with its\u2002market share increasing only marginally, from 4.13% to 4.24%\u2014or a 0.11% gain.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Kubota Agricultural Machinery India Pvt Ltd<\/strong> <\/a>witnessed the biggest fall among big OEMs as it could sell just 797 units against 1,157 units sold in May 2024, recording a 31.11% dip. Its share of the market dropped from 1.65% to 1.11%, a\u20020.54% decrease.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Other Brands – including regional and niche players\u2014sold a combined total of\u20022,472 units, improving from 1,992 in May 2024. This is a growth of 24.10%, and their combined\u2002market share gained 0.59%, from 2.84% to 3.43%.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
