The loan limit under the interest subvention scheme will\u2002be increased from \u20b93 lakh to \u20b95 lakh. This decision is expected to provide short-term credit\u2002to 7.7 crore farmers at subsidized interest rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4a7775e2d6841018241cc61b1e642c67\">The <strong>Finance Minister<\/strong> added that the loan limit would be\u2002extended for loans availed through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/khetigaadi.com\/news\/kisan-credit-card-2\/\">KCC<\/a><\/strong>. This move will facilitate farmer&#8217;s availability of the funds required for their agriculture\u2002and allied activities at a lower rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1baee04ff872299afe23875e4fd96a38\">The KCC scheme aims to provide sufficient credit\u2002to farmers for their agricultural needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-967ac9c98437c6b4aebb55b1b60ade3c\"><strong>Kisan Credit Card<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9ec164365973faf0c1edba66b7bddf7a\">The Kisan Credit Card is introduced to provide easy access to\u2002institutional credit to farmers. It is a savings and loan\u2002product that addresses short-term credit needs in agriculture. The KCC scheme, launched in 1998, was expanded in 2019 to\u2002include working capital requirements for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/khetigaadi.com\/blog\/animal-husbandry-government-schemes-in-india\/\">animal husbandry<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/khetigaadi.com\/blog\/dairy-farming\/\">dairying<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/khetigaadi.com\/blog\/fish-farming\/\">fisheries.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-eadfa39f9c7073fcb1bdd86ca55a7338\">Modified Interest Subvention Scheme <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9e2e668ebe2e6dceb88d10f4c893a202\">Under the existing scheme,\u2002farmers are eligible for collateral-free loans of up to \u20b91.60 lakh. The government offers\u2002a 1.5% interest subvention to banks and an even greater Prompt Repayment Incentive (PRI) of 3% for animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries loans in the \u20b92-lakh range for the Modified Interest Subvention Scheme (MISS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c9c221f8bab3b1ea9be481dd538703d8\"><strong>Revolving Cash\u2002Credit Facility<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-2124b8f5ab440a73de911db9938a7513\">KCC operates\u2002as a revolving cash credit facility. Farmers can then withdraw and\u2002pay back these funds at their convenience. Along with these, wherever available, the scheme also provides <a href=\"https:\/\/khetigaadi.com\/blog\/selective-animal-breeding-in-india\/\"><strong>livestock<\/strong><\/a> insurance, personal insurance, asset insurance, and\u2002health insurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a6602dfc7c1aae8fdbd008d004397a33\">As of March 2024, 7.75 crore KCC accounts were operational in the\u2002country, as per the Economic Survey. The\u2002total outstanding under these accounts is \u20b99.81 lakh crore. Also, 1.24 lakh KCCs were issued for fisheries and 44.40 lakh for animal\u2002husbandry activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bc66d3e3ed7d17a3800c4bb403e3bcd1\">Kisan Rin Portal<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-5185f121aad14929d25d2edbb45e8f7d\">The claim processing under the Modified Interest Subvention Scheme, too, has been digitized by the government through the\u2002Kisan Rin Portal (KRP).
