The wholesale price of soybean dropped to \u20b94,196 per quintal in August 2024, a 3.25% decrease from \u20b94,337 in July. The year-on-year figures are even more alarming, with prices down by 12.49% from \u20b94,795 in August 2023. Erratic monsoon patterns and supply chain disruptions have contributed to reduced crop yields and an oversupply, further exacerbating the price decline. In Maharashtra, prices dropped by 1.74% in August, settling at \u20b94,190 per quintal.
