This initiative is part of a broader effort to establish solar power facilities. Under this initiative, solar power generation projects of 1991 MW power have been commissioned to provide daytime and sustainable power supply to agriculture in western Maharashtra. Therefore, in the first phase, solar power generation projects with a total capacity of 1991 MW are being set up for 276 sub-centres in Pune, Solapur, Satara, Sangli and Kolhapur districts. This includes solar power generation projects of 867 MW for most 98 substations in Solapur district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3cb182d731f8f91cf879886af749b035\"><strong>5915 MW of solar power generation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-b2f71c0f809f6bdd43d3ce90eaa8f955\">The Chief Minister&#8217;s Solar Agriculture Vahini Yojana-2.0 of the state government is being implemented rapidly and daytime electricity supply to agriculture has been planned through 710 sub-centres in western Maharashtra. For this, 5 thousand 915 MW of solar power generation is targeted and so far, 7 thousand 669 acres of government lands have been acquired. In this, in the first phase, the work of setting up solar power generation projects of 1991 MW capacity has been started to supply electricity to agriculture through 276 sub-centres during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-1ba8c930eb3339811c99a5c191613e83\"><strong>276 sub-centres<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9fa745969ecd36d777f763e226075d12\">In the first phase, thousands of farmers in the area of these 276 sub-centres will be supplied with daytime and sustainable electricity for agriculture. The demand of farmers for many years to get electricity supply during the day for agricultural irrigation is being realized. Therefore, the Pune Regional Director of Mahavitaran Ankush Nale has appealed to the concerned village panchayats and citizens to cooperate with the solar power generation projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d89f05c408ccd011142fd6083528cb50\">In the first phase of solar power generation in Western Maharashtra, 429 MW for 54 sub-centres in Pune district, 208 MW for 39 sub-centres in Satara district, 317 MW for 41 sub-centres in Sangli, 170 MW for 44 sub-centres in Kolhapur and 867 MW for 98 sub-centres in Solapur district with a total capacity of 1991 MW for 276 sub-centres. The construction work is going on by the concerned agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-3675df3460e151e267c32485d6745761\"><strong>\u2018Agro Benefits\u2019 of solar projects<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9db8d9219409e186359f8b80f65265d3\">Farmers&#8217; demand for daytime electricity supply for agriculture is beginning to be met. Also, each gram panchayat in whose area solar power projects will be implemented will get a subsidy of Rs. 15 lakhs per annum for three years. Notably, construction of the solar power plant, its operation for 25 years, and maintenance and repair will create approximately 6,000 full-time and 13,000 part-time jobs in rural areas of the state. Also, the gram panchayats where solar power projects will be established will receive more than 200 crores of subsidy and will provide public amenities in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a82a38f9f18936c5d87940488d381c8d\">Technologies worked on electricity and due to the high demand for electricity, there are shortages of electricity and farmers face problems powering their pumps and equipment.
