The estimated sugar production in Maharashtra will increase to 10.2 MMT from 6.20 MMT in the previous year that is up by 64.5% while in Uttar Pradesh the production is expected to decline to 10.5 MMT from 12.60 MMT that is down by 16.6% in the previous year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Though Karnataka is expected to increase by 25.6% the report given by AISTA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the current sugar season about 2 million tonnes of sucrose would get sacrificed due to production of ethanol from B-heavy molasses and sugarcane juice. In the estimation of 29.9 million tons there is an excluded adjustment in sugar production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the part of eastern UP and Bihar, the sugarcane crop has been partially infected with the red rot disease due to which the production of sugar has been adversely impacted and lower in this region.
