Historically and even today, Agriculture is the largest sector offering employment in India and it remains the primary source of livelihood for a high percentage of rural households. And within the farming community around 80 percent of farmers are small and marginal<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the advent of technology, more OEM manufacturers and due to various government schemes, the cultivation of land has become more efficient. With high mobile penetration, today many farmers consult and review a variety of data about many variables including soil, weather and produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hitherto, lack of information has been one of the main impediments preventing farmers from reaping the fruits of their labor. In the coming years, agricultural transformation is set to revolutionize farming, leading to increased productivity, making agriculture commercially viable with an emphasis on price discovery for farmers and access to newer markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are multiple things going to converge and ensure that farming is going to be a very attractive both from government perspective as well as from the emerging demand perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Critical aspects of this transformation include farm mechanization and sustainable agricultural methods. The government is playing a pivotal role in the development of agricultural and allied sectors by assuring remunerative returns, providing crop insurance, implementing watershed projects, and facilitating access to affordable financial credit. This is with a view to increasing agricultural income and helping farmers transition from marginal earners to farm entrepreneurs, thereby ensuring their growth and prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
