The Assam government has taken a big step in the hit of farmers. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has approved a Horticulture Mission worth Rs 150 crore. The CM said that there is a huge demand for flowers in Assam. The demand here is met by supplying flowers from West Bengal and Thailand. The state government wants to be self-dependent in the field of horticulture. State Floriculture has been approved for this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state government wants to benefit more and more farmers by adding them under this scheme. Now, according to the planning prepared by the state government regarding the Horticulture Mission, 20 thousand farmers will be covered under this scheme, that means directly 20 thousand farmers will be benefited from this scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The state government has started focusing on horticulture crops. Officials of the state government say that horticulture i.e cultivation of flowers is being done in 2200 hectares. It will be increased to 3288 hectares in 3 years. Officials said that the condition of the state in paddy and fisheries is fine.
