To help the cattle rearers amid the Corona crisis, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the E Gopala app for farmers on 10 September 2020 under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). Launching the E Gopala app, the Prime Minister Said app will free the farmers from middlemen and provide all the information related to productivity, health, and diet for the cattle. Along with a good breed of animals, correct scientific information about their care is equally important. For this, technology has been used continuously in the last years. In this direction, the 'E-Gopala' app has been launched today. E Gopal is a major program of the government for the development of the agriculture sector in the country under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. However, the Prime Minister said that the E Gopala app is for the benefit of farmers across the country. Key objectives The Prime Minister further said that about six thousand crore rupees have been deposited so far in the bank accounts of farmers of Bihar. The E-Gopala app will be a digital medium that helps livestock owners. It would be easy to choose advanced livestock. They will get freedom from middlemen. This app will provide all the information related to productivity, health, and diet for cattle. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this scheme will benefit people in a big way. It is our aim to double our production and promote the fisheries sector in the next 3-4 years. The Prime Minister further said that till now about six thousand crore rupees have been deposited in the bank accounts of farmers of Bihar. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has also transferred money directly to the bank accounts of more than 10 crore farmers of the country. There are about 75 lakh farmers in Bihar. So far, about 6 thousand crore rupees have been deposited in the bank account of the farmers.
