In this digital age where every transaction, connection and communication can be controlled digitally, now it is the farmer's turn to be digital. Digitalization can make the work of the farmer to a large extent easy and convenient. The Indian Horticultural Research Institute has launched the country's first seed portal, where farmers across the country can ask for seeds of 60 horticultural crops sitting at home after making online payments. India's first seed portal has been integrated with the Yono Krishi App of the State Bank of India, launched by Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. With the integration of the app, crores of farmers of the country will be able to take advantage of government schemes and bank facilities digitally, including buying seeds.
