Many Bellevue customers have already found ways to do their part by repairing leaks, updating plumbing fixtures and appliances, and adopting water-smart habits.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"sizeable\">Supplies Are Limited:<\/h3>\n<p class=\"sizeable\">While nature&#8217;s capacity to produce water seems limitless, our supply of clean, safe drinking water is not. Save water, and it will\u00a0save you. Abundant precipitation generally falls only from autumn until spring. During the summer when water use peaks, however, we rely on minimal rain and snowmelt. As our region grows, the demands on our\u00a0water supply continue to grow. Avoid letting the faucet run when shaving, brushing teeth, and washing<\/li>\n<li><strong>Skip the pre-rinse.<\/strong> Check to see if your dishwasher can clean dishes without pre-rinsing<br \/>\nthem. Newer dishwashers don&#8217;t require pre-rinsing.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reuse clean household water.<\/strong> Collect all the water that is wasted while waiting for the hot water to<br \/>\nreach your faucet or showerhead. Use this to water your houseplants or outdoor planters.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Take showers instead of baths.<\/strong> A bathtub holds about 50 gallons of water- much more than<br \/>\na normal shower would use.
